With large fine sandy beaches, hidden coves, steep coasts, breathtaking landscapes and famous seaside resorts, the Jade coast in Loire-Atlantique is a real paradise for sea lovers. It extends over 43 kilometres, from the Loire estuary south of Saint-Nazaire to the Vendée marshes.

Hiking, biking and beaches

The superb coast path GR8 and the Vélocéan cycle path that run along the Jade coast are just in front of the villa Ker Mathilde.

They will allow you to discover the sumptuous wild coast with typical fisheries and secret coves, from Pointe Saint Gildas, to Pornic and further away along the coast. 

Surfing, kiteboarding, sand yachting

Margaret beach, located just in front of the villa Ker Mathilde, is a locally well-known spot for surfing and bodysurfing.

On the nearby large beach of Tharon you can also go kitesurfing or sand yachting. The Préfailles sailing school offers initiations to various water sports.

Sea trips and fishing

Villa Ker Mathilde will offer sea lovers great occasions of sea escapes. It is a paradise for shore fishing and you can also do daily boat trips, especially to Noirmoutier island located right on the opposite shore. 

Unless of course you prefer to simply read a book, letting yourself be lulled by the sound of the waves and the smell of the pine treas...

Visits and parks

From a visit to the Château de Pornic to that of Anne de Bretagne, from acrobranche to the Pornic Aventures or Défi Nature parks, from the Planète Sauvage safari to the Legendia Parc, you will find a multitude of activities around the villa Ker Mathilde and parks for all ages and tastes...

And why not take the opportunity even to go to the Puy du Fou park that is 1h30 drive?

Horse riding, swimming, idleness....

For horses lovers, the horse center of the Jade coast offers, fifteen minutes from the villa Ker Mathilde, horseback riding on the beach and horse riding courses.The Jade Coast is also ideal for swimming enthusiasts: often calm seas, pure water, wild creeks...

And why not simply relax in the sun on the terrace facing the sea or in the shade of the pine trees in the garden?
